JPS Jazz Festival

Friday, April 25th, is the JP Jazz Festival and we are in need of your support to make the event a success! The event WILL be taking place at Metuchen High School since our auditorium is still not complete.

DONATIONS are needed. (Check BAND app or Whatsapp for link)

Drinks, Boxes of Assorted Chips/Snacks, Boxes of Hot chocolate packets, Boxes of Assorted Full Size candy, Baked Ziti (Recipe posted in BAND app / Whatsapp),Meatballs (Kirkland frozen bag with tomato sauce added).
**All donations except Baked Ziti and Meatballs in Marinara should be delivered to the band room by the end of day, Wednesday, April 23rd)**

VOLUNTEERS are needed. (Check BAND app or Whatsapp for sign up sheet)

You have the choice of 3 shifts (3:15-6:15, 5:45-8:45 or 8:15-11:15)
You can also volunteer to load your car/truck with supplies after school on the 24th to bring it to Metuchen High at 3:15 on Friday. (We will need several car/truck loads)
You can also volunteer to pick up food from Jade Garden, Spice House, Bombay Blue, Shoprite items, Dunkin Donuts and deliver it to Metuchen High School for us by 4:00 pm.
You can also volunteer to load your car/truck with supplies after the event to bring it back to JPS on Monday after school. (We will need several car/truck loads).

Band Parent Meeting: 4/23/25

Dear Band Parents,

As we gear up for the end of season performances and events, we’d like to invite you to our upcoming Band Parent Meeting. Your involvement makes a huge difference in creating memorable experiences for our students, and we’d love your input, ideas, and energy!

Date: April 23rd
Time: 8:00 pm
Location: Online Google Meet Link

At this meeting, we’ll be discussing important upcoming events and the many ways you can get involved. From helping with ticket sales to food pick-up, set-up, serving, sales, clean-up, shopping, and more. There’s something for everyone — no matter how much time you have to give!

We’re also looking ahead to next year and encouraging parents to consider joining our Band Parent Board. If you’re passionate about supporting the band and want to help shape the future of our program, this is a fantastic opportunity to step in and make an impact. This also allows you to organize and attend the trips! Remember: Next year is a Disney YEAR!

As many of you know, this year’s Virginia trip was an incredible experience for our students — full of memories and learning — but it also brought most of our student trip accounts down to zero. With next year being our Disney Year, we want to hit the ground running with fresh fundraising ideas to help offset the costs and make this magical trip possible for every student.

In the past, our Citrus Fundraiser was a strong contributor, but due to rising costs and lower participation, we’ve had to step away from it. That means we're now looking for new and creative fundraising opportunities that are engaging, profitable, and most importantly — fun!

If you have any successful fundraising ideas or are willing to help coordinate a new effort, we’d love to hear from you! Whether it’s community events, partnerships with local businesses, or something entirely new, every suggestion is welcome and appreciated.

Whether you're a seasoned volunteer or just getting started, your presence and support are truly appreciated.
